The challenge
The client's video-heavy platform was unusable for their actual market: students on mid-range Android phones with limited data. Engagement was collapsing outside Nairobi.
What we built
We rebuilt content delivery around compressed audio, text-first lessons, and aggressive caching, added M-Pesa micro-payments for daily passes, and shipped an Android app under 15 MB.
Results
- Data usage per lesson cut by 85%
- Daily active users up 3.2× in one term
- M-Pesa daily-pass conversion at 11%
